Established by donations from the Norman Burchfiel Family in the mid 1990’s, the Burchfiel Grove and Arboretum was established to add both beauty and ever lasting educational opportunities for the Citizens of Sevierville and the many visitors to the area.
The newly name Middle Creek Greenway includes the Greenway Loop around the Municipal Complex as well as the planned connection across Middle Creek to the Boys and Girls Club. When you leave the Municipal Complex you will cross Railroad Street continuing behind the Middle School and Trula Lawson Center; crossing East Gate Road where Greenway crosses Middle Creek in front of the New Salem Baptist Church.
The Veteran’s Boulevard Greenway is a 10’ paved greenway that starts in Sevierville at the KFC restaurant and goes to Pigeon Forge at Dollywood. The entire distance one way is 6 miles.
The West Prong Greenway was a vision of the Late “Sid” Wade-First Chairman of the Sevierville Tree Board in the 1980’s; and brother to former Mayor and now Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Gary Wade. Sid Wade was able to raise over $50,000 dollars from the private sector for this project.
