Burchfiel Grove & Arboretum

Established by donations from the Norman Burchfiel Family in the mid 1990’s, the Burchfiel Grove and Arboretum was established to add both beauty and ever lasting educational opportunities for the Citizens of Sevierville and the many visitors to the area.

Middle Creek Greenway

The newly name Middle Creek Greenway includes the Greenway Loop around the Municipal Complex as well as the planned connection across Middle Creek to the Boys and Girls Club. When you leave the Municipal Complex you will cross Railroad Street continuing behind the Middle School and Trula Lawson Center; crossing East Gate Road where Greenway crosses Middle Creek in front of the New Salem Baptist Church.

Veterans Boulevard Greenway

The Veteran’s Boulevard Greenway is a 10’ paved greenway that starts in Sevierville at the KFC restaurant and goes to Pigeon Forge at Dollywood. The entire distance one way is 6 miles.

West Prong Greenway Trail

The West Prong Greenway was a vision of the Late “Sid” Wade-First Chairman of the Sevierville Tree Board in the 1980’s; and brother to former Mayor and now Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Gary Wade. Sid Wade was able to raise over $50,000 dollars from the private sector for this project.

Planter Area Club

Participation in this club allows you to select an area and place the following: a four foot wooden bench, 8" X 4" marble plaque, landscaping, one tree and pavers. Limited to approved areas only.

Also included is a plaque with the name of your loved one placed in the lobby of the Community Center and the name of your loved one read aloud at the annual Arbor Day Celebration.

Cost is $1200.00 and includes installation and guaranteed livability of the tree, landscaping and replacement of all components if damaged or vandalized.

Tree Forever Program

The Sevierville Parks and Recreation offers you three ways to honor loved ones by placement of trees on public grounds in the City of Sevierville. 

 

Find Existing Memorial Tree

  • Permanent Plaque and Tree Club - Existing Tree
  • Permanent Plaque and Tree Club - New Tree
  • Planter Area Club

This program requires Tree Memorials to be placed at approved areas only using existing trees. 

Also included is a 8” x 4” marble plaque with two lines available for engraving on the plaque at the base of the tree. In addition, the person’s name being honored will be placed on a plaque in the Community Center lobby and their name will be read aloud at Arbor Day celebration each year, which is normally the last Friday in March annually.

Cost is $250.00 per memorial and includes installation and guaranteed livability of the tree including replacement of the tree if necessary.

Springfest

An annual event running from March - June each year, Springfest marks the beginning of spring in Sevier County! Parks & Recreation staff work diligently to beautify the city after those cold winter months. This includes the placement of festive banners and the planting of beautiful annual & perennial flowers throughout the city of Sevierville.
