What: Sevierville Parks and Recreation schedules mid-elevation loop hike
Where: Cades Cover area in Smokies
When: Monday, May 19, 2025
The Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled a loop hike of Finley Cane, Bote Mountain, Schoolhouse Gap, and Turkeypen Gap trails on Monday, May 19. This is an easy to moderate 9.5-mile hike with rolling elevation changes, Spring wildflowers, and some low water crossings.
The guided hike is FREE and limited to ten participants. Participants must be at least 18-years old and provide their own transportation to a meeting place to be provided after registration.

What: Partial Community Center closures for renovation
Where: Sevierville Community Center, 200 Gary Wade Boulevard
When: Beginning Saturday, May 3, 2025
Several areas of the Sevierville Community Center will be temporarily closed for ongoing renovation beginning Saturday, May 3, 2025. The Community Center will reopen fully on Friday, May 9 at 6:00 a.m.
The Bowling Center and Fitness Center will remain open on a regular schedule.
The partial closure is to facilitate gymnasium floor refinishing and weld work on interior handrails. Please check our Facebook pages for schedule updates. We will be reaching out to those registered for classes to notify of the changes.

What: Sevierville Arbor Day celebration at Children’s Center
Where: New Children’s Center at the Sevierville Community Center
When: 4 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2025
The City of Sevierville will host their 2025 Arbor Day celebration on Thursday, April 24. The event will begin at 4:00 p.m. in front of the new Children’s Center, which is located behind the Community Center, 200 Gary Wade Boulevard. Parking is available at the Sevierville Police Department; follow the sidewalk between the Police Department and Community Center to the celebration.
The event will include a welcome and proclamation from Sevierville Mayor Robbie Fox, remarks from Department of Agriculture representative, Alex Bremner, and a reading of individuals who received memorial trees in their names over the past year.
Children from the Parks and Recreation Children’s Program will plant a tree dedicating the new facility to past members of the Children’s Program. The tree being planted was donated by the Sevier County Electric System. Refreshments will be served after the celebration.

The Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled a hike to Ramsey Cascades on Tuesday, April 29. This STRENUOUS hike features Spring wildflowers, creek and waterfall views, and 2,200 feet of elevation gain.
The guided hike is FREE and limited to ten participants. Participants must be at least 18-years old and provide their own transportation to a meeting place to be provided after registration.

What: Community Center gymnasium closing for maintenance

The Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department announces the temporary closing of the Sevierville Community Center gymnasium beginning Monday, April 21.
