When: Bowling Center reopens Monday, August 12, 2024

The City of Sevierville Bowling Center will resume operation on Monday, August 12, with the completion of new equipment installation. Bowling Center hours are Monday-Saturday 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Registration is also open for Fall leagues. Bowlers of all abilities are welcome.

MONDAY-4 bowlers per team, any combination of men and women.
League meeting 6:30 p.m. August 12 at the Sevierville Community Center. Tentative start date is September 9. Competitive match point league, 30-week season.

TUESDAY MIXED-4 bowlers per team, any combination of men and women.
League meeting 6:30 p.m. August 13 at the Sevierville Community Center. Tentative start date is September 3, 30-week season.

THURSDAY MIXED-4 bowlers per team, and each team MUST have at least one female. League Meeting 6:30 p.m. August 15 at the Sevierville Community Center. Tentative start date is September 5, 30-week season.

YOUTH LEAGUES-Sign-up meeting 6:30 p.m. September 7 at the Sevierville Community Center. Tentative start date is September 14.

Parks and Recreation schedules hike to Rainbow Falls

The Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled a hike to Rainbow Falls on Tuesday, August 13. This guided hike is FREE and limited to ten participants. Participants must be at least 18-years old and provide their own transportation to a meeting location. Meeting time and location will be provided after registration.

This 5.4 mile moderately strenuous hike features waterfalls and old growth forest.

Grab your swimming suits and sunblock and head over to the outdoor Family Aquatic Center at Sevierville City Park! Only a few days are left to beat the heat and enjoy some summer fun at the pool. The last day to visit the Family Aquatic Center this season is Saturday, August 3.

The Family Aquatic Center will be open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. through August 3.

Many FAC employees attend school, and with school beginning next week, the FAC will not be able to remain open after August 3.

Sevierville 2024 Fall adult co-ed softball league registration open

The City of Sevierville Department of Parks and Recreation is now accepting registration for the 2024 Fall adult co-ed softball league. Registration materials are available at the Sevierville Community Center front desk or online at seviervilletn.org on the Parks and Recreation athletics page. Teams can register in person or online at https://sevierville.recdesk.com/Community/Home. The registration deadline is August 23.

Registration is available for full teams only. Individuals can be placed on a free agent list for teams that may be looking for players. Co-ed league fees are $250.00 per team.

Play will begin on August 27. Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Sevierville City Park.

The Sevierville Advisory Committee on Historic Landmark Signs will be accepting applications until October 31, 2024, from anyone that would like to purchase a kiosk sign denoting significant Sevierville history. Successful applications must provide documentation demonstrating that the property tells an important story that has meaning for all Sevierville residents.
 
A Sevierville significant property or area may: 
• Be the location of an event that had a significant impact on Sevierville history;
• Be the property most strongly associated with a significant Sevierville figure in Sevier County and or Tennessee history; 
• Provide an outstanding illustration of a broad theme or trend in Sevierville’s history; 
• Be an outstanding example of an architectural style or significant development in engineering; 
• Be part of a collective group of properties that form a historic district; or 
• Be a property that can provide nationally significant archeological information. 
  
There is a $50.00-dollar non-refundable application fee and a sign production fee of approximately $2,500.00 (if approved). Signs will be installed free of charge by the City of Sevierville Department of Parks and Recreation.
