Due to current dry conditions, exceptionally low relative humidity, forecasted high winds, and a Very High Fire Danger, Sevier County and the Cities of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Town of Pittman Center, and Sevierville have issued a BURN BAN until further notice.

Due to scheduled ADA sidewalk improvements within the dog park, the LARGE dog section of the dog park at Sevierville City Park will be closed beginning Monday, March 17. Weather and other conditions permitting, the anticipated reopening date is Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning, March 11, 2025, Sevierville Police Department officers responded to a reported crash on I-40 east at exit 407. Officers found a Toyota Tacoma and a semi tractor trailer hauling rock on the right shoulder.

The Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled a hike of Cucumber Gap Loop and Avent Cabin on Wednesday, March 19. This easy-to-moderate loop features Spring wildflowers, historical artifacts, and slight elevation changes. The small dog section of the Dog Park at Sevierville City Park will be closed all day on Monday, March 10. The closure is necessary due to water line work occurring in the area.

Due to recent rainfall, combined with higher levels of humidity the burn ban which was implemented earlier this week by Sevier County, the Cities of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville, and the Town of Pittman Center will be lifted at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 7. The lifting of the burn ban will allow recreational burning, including fire pits, campfires and charcoal grills. Registration is now being accepted for the City of Sevierville Parks and Recreation 2025 Spring adult co-ed softball league. Co-ed league fees are $250.00 per team. Registration is for full teams; individuals may be placed on a free agent list for teams that may be looking for players.

The large dog section will remain open. Weather and other conditions permitting, the water line work will be completed and the small dog section will reopen as scheduled on Friday, March 7.
