Notice of Requirements
The City of Sevierville provides ADA/504 information on an ongoing basis, to applicants, participants, beneficiaries, employees, and other interested parties regarding the rights and protections afforded by Title II, including information about how Title II requirements apply to particular programs, services, and activities.
It is the responsibility of the City Administrator to determine the most effective methods for making individuals in the community aware of their rights and protections. The City ADA Team, made up of City employees representing different City departments, can assist the City Administrator in finding ways to inform the public.
In order to ensure effective communication, the information is presented in clear, straight-forward English, avoiding legal and bureaucratic idioms. One way the City of Sevierville notifies the public is through the use of graphic symbols in notices and advertisements. These logos can effectively communicate a message regarding City policies and practices. The International Symbol of Accessibility is the wheelchair logo. TDOT’s Public Notices may also contain the address and phone number of the ADA Coordinator.
