The following is a joint statement from the Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department, the Pigeon Forge Parks and Recreation Department, and the Smoky Mountain Youth Baseball Association.
Under the guidelines provided by Governor Bill Lee in the Tennessee Pledge recommending that all youth sports league activity remain closed until at least May 29, 2020, it is the decision of the Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department, the Pigeon Forge Parks and Recreation Department and SMYBA, to cancel the Spring 2020 youth baseball and softball season.

On April 28, the Governor's Office announced guidance for gyms and exercise facilities on how to reopen safely. Gyms will be allowed to reopen in 89 of the state’s 95 counties beginning Friday, May 1. Following Tennessee Governor Lee’s decision to not extend the stay at home executive order, the City of Sevierville is beginning to reopen some facilities to the public. Social distancing and personal hygiene are being emphasized; wearing a cloth mask is encouraged when in a public setting. Measures will be in place to enhance the safety of residents and staff at each facility.
