Joint Statement on 2020 Spring Youth Baseball and Softball Season
Posted 04-30-20.
The following is a joint statement from the Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department, the Pigeon Forge Parks and Recreation Department, and the Smoky Mountain Youth Baseball Association.
Under the guidelines provided by Governor Bill Lee in the Tennessee Pledge recommending that all youth sports league activity remain closed until at least May 29, 2020, it is the decision of the Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department, the Pigeon Forge Parks and Recreation Department and SMYBA, to cancel the Spring 2020 youth baseball and softball season.
While this is a difficult and disappointing decision for everyone, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in Sevier County. For the first time ever, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and SMYBA will be having a joint Fall 2020 baseball and softball league season beginning in late August 2020.
If your child or your team was registered for the Spring 2020 season and is interested in playing in the fall, the Spring 2020 registration fee will rollover to the fall. However, if you would prefer to receive a refund for the Spring 2020 season, please contact the department where you paid your fees. For Sevierville/SMYBA, call the Sevierville Parks and Recreation Athletic Department at 865-453-6946; for the Pigeon Forge Parks and Recreation Department, call 865-617-8831.
Thank you all very much for your understanding and your passion for our children and for the sport and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused everyone. We hope to see everyone this fall on the ball field!
