VII. REQUIRED INSPECTIONS
During the construction process various authorities are required to inspect the construction at specific points.
When an inspection is to be performed by a City Inspector, 24-hour advance notice is required to guarantee the inspection at the convenience of the contractor. Requests for inspection made less than 24-hours in advance cannot be guaranteed for the time requested. Work may NOT proceed until the proper inspection(s) has been made, and approval given. A. Required Building Inspections:
The Building Inspector upon notification from the permit holder or his agent shall make the following inspections of buildings and such other inspections as may be necessary, and shall approve that portion of the construction as completed or shall notify the permit holder or his agent of any violation of the adopted Codes.
◾ Footing Inspection: To be made after trenches are excavated, forms erected, reinforcement placed and prior to pouring concrete.
◾ Slab Inspection: To be made prior to pouring concrete with all forms, vapor barriers and reinforcement in place.
◾ Frame Inspection: To be made after the roof, all framing, fireblocking and bracing is in place, all concealed wiring, all pipes, chimneys, ducts and vents are complete.
◾Final Inspection: To be made after building is completed and ready for occupancy.
B. Required Plumbing Inspections:
The following inspections will be required at different stages of installation. Tests will be required at each stage of installation.
◾Underground Piping Inspection: To be made after trenches or ditches are excavated, piping installed, and before any backfill is put in place.
◾Rough-In Inspection: To be made after the roof, framing, fireblocking and bracing is in place, all soil, waste, and vent piping is complete, and prior to the installation of wall or ceiling membranes. Pressure tests will be required.
◾ Final Inspection: To be made after the building is complete, all plumbing fixtures are in place and properly connected, and the structure is ready for occupancy. Contact City Inspector, City Hall, 453-5504.
◾Building Sewer form the building to the municipal tap or septic tank.
C. Required Signage Inspection:
The Code Enforcement Officer or Building Inspector, upon notification from the permit holder or his agent shall inspect the signage for compliance with the approved Site Plan and Sevierville Sign Ordinance.
