Code Red Alert System TEST Scheduled

Posted 02-27-18

As part of Tennessee Severe Weather Awareness Week, the City of Sevierville, along with Sevier County and other area cities, will be testing the Code Red alert system.

The test will take place at approximately 10:00AM this Friday, March 2, 2018. At this time, all City of Sevierville residents who have registered to receive the free Code Red alerts should receive a test alert message.

Sevier County 911 provides the Code Red alert system and allows individual cities in the county to administer the program for their respective residents and businesses. Registration is free. When registered, you will be notified by local officials in the event of emergency situations or critical community alerts. Examples include: evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices, and missing person reports. In addition to receiving emergency alerts, users may choose to receive general alerts such as major road closures or significant interruptions in City services. Users may also choose to receive weather-related messages from the National Weather Service.

City of Sevierville residents and businesses may register online at www.seviervilletn.org. The Code Red icon can be found near the bottom of the home page. Click the icon and follow the registration instructions.
