Notice of Intent to Exceed Certified Tax Rate

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Sevierville will conduct a public hearing on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. regarding the City’s intent to exceed the certified tax rate and to adopt a fiscal year 2017 budget amendment via ordinance O2016-013. This public hearing will be held in the Council Hall of the Civic Center, 130 Gary Wade Boulevard. The certified tax rate as determined by T.C.A. 67-5-1701 is $.2970.

The City’s proposed fiscal year 2017 budget, as amended, will require a tax levy of $.4970 per $100 of assessed valuation. The purpose of the property tax increase is to fund the construction and staffing of a new main fire station and the renovation of the existing downtown fire station.
