Improving Hwy 66 - Road Construction Update

In order to pave and perform other work for the new outside southbound lanes of SR-66, motorists should expect temporary/nightly right lane closures from Lee Greenwood Boulevard to Alder Branch Road between 7:00pm and 6:00am from Sunday January 31 through Thursday February 4. This operation is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists should expect delays and changing conditions, and should use extreme caution when traveling through the work zone.

Crews continue construction of the outside lanes in available sections. Base stone placement for the new outside lanes is ongoing throughout the project. Utility relocations (pictured below) are nearly complete and storm drain installation is ongoing.

Short duration traffic stops should be expected daily throughout the project as crews move equipment and materials in and out of the work zone.
