TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary lane closure on Dolly Parton Parkway for 5k road race special event

A traffic advisory is being issued for a section of Dolly Parton Parkway and Old Newport Highway on Thursday, November 28.

The right westbound travel lane on Dolly Parton Parkway between Cherokee Circle and Old Newport Highway will be closed from approximately 6:45 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Runners will also be using the eastbound travel lane on Old Newport Highway between Dolly Parton Parkway and Cherokee Circle. Eastbound traffic on Old Newport Highway will be allowed but motorists must yield to race participants.

The closure is necessary to facilitate the Smoky Bear Turkey Chase 5k special event. Minor traffic delays may occur. Motorists should watch for slowed traffic and runners in the area during this period.
