TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Maintenance continues on Henderson Avenue

(NOTE: This project was scheduled to be completed on November 8, however unforeseen drainage issues and utility repairs have resulted in delays.)

A traffic advisory is being issued for ongoing road maintenance on Henderson Avenue. The maintenance involves street reconstruction using full-depth reclamation.

Daily lane closures will continue on Henderson Avenue, between Dolly Parton Parkway and Eastgate Road, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Weather and other conditions permitting, the work will be completed by 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 20.

Traffic will be maintained, however motorists should expect delays, especially during heavy traffic periods. Motorists should also expect rough road conditions and are encouraged to use an alternate route.

Contractors will be utilizing a roadway reconstruction process called full-depth reclamation (FDR). FDR involves removing and reclaiming the existing roadway section to create a more stable, durable and longer-lasting roadway. The process is also more eco-friendly and less expensive than traditional methods.
