TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Cross country running event September 9-10

The City of Sevierville is issuing a traffic advisory for the area near Walters State Community College, 1720 Old Newport Highway, for Monday, September 9-Tuesday, September 10.

A cross country running event is scheduled for the afternoon and evening hours on both days. Heavy traffic is expected in the immediate and surrounding area, including Old Newport Highway, Highway 416/Pittman Center Road, and Ernest McMahan Road.

Motorists traveling in this area are advised to expect delays, plan for additional travel time, consider alternate routes, and watch for pedestrians. Additional police officers will be present to provide traffic control and emergency services.
