West Prong Greenway-Hardin Lane parking limited due to ongoing construction
Posted 03-26-24.
Ongoing construction for a new blueway landing will limit available parking at the West Prong Greenway-Hardin Lane parking area for the next 45-60 days. Less than ten parking spaces will generally be available for use during this period.
The Sevierville Public Works Department is building additional parking at this location to facilitate use of the new blueway landing that will be opening in the future at that location.
West Prong Greenway access with parking is also available at two other locations: Trail Lane, located between the McMahan Indian Mound and Shoney’s Restaurant on Forks of the River Parkway; and at Sevierville City Park on Park Road.
The blueway landing on Hardin Lane is the second of two blueway landings to be under construction. Construction started at the blueway landing at City Park several weeks ago. The two blueway landings are being funded by a $100,000.00 Tourism Enhancement grant, City matching dollars and private donations.
The City plans to build five blueway landings along both the west and east prongs of the Little Pigeon River in downtown Sevierville. The blueway landings will provide safe and convenient public access to residents and visitors to enjoy the river for tubing, kayaking and small boat fishing.
