TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Closure on Old Knoxville Highway Planned

A traffic advisory is being issued for Old Knoxville Highway from 9:00 a.m. Monday, July 24-3:00 p.m. Friday, July 28. During this period, Old Knoxville Highway will be closed to all through traffic between Gists Creek Road and East Loop Road.

The approximate closure site is shown on the attached map. Local traffic will be permitted on this section of Old Knoxville Highway, however through traffic will be prohibited.

The purpose of the closure is to perform necessary roadway repairs and stabilization work. Motorists are advised to utilize Gists Creek Road, Winfield Dunn Parkway (State Route 66), North Parkway (State Route 448), and West Main Street (US 411) as a detour route. Motorists should use extreme caution in the area as traffic patterns will be altered and workers will be present.
