Motorcycle Crash Results in Fatality

Sevierville Police Department officers responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and a car on West Dumplin Valley Road today, Thursday, July 12, 2018. The crash was reported at approximately 10:26AM.

According to SPD Officer Shawn Crawford, it appears that a Chevrolet Impala was traveling west on West Dumplin Valley Road and attempting to turn left into the Northview Optimist Park when it collided with a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling east.

The driver of the motorcycle, 57-year old Randy W. Renfrow of Kodak, died apparently as a result of the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet, 82-year old Robert J. Smith of Kodak was uninjured.

SPD accident reconstructionists are continuing to investigate the crash.
