The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Foundation is to seek federal, state, municipal, public, and private support and leverages such support to supplement the efforts of the Parks & Recreation Department to maintain public spaces, encourage physical fitness, and provide programs for area youth. This foundation also works to strengthen and encourage those in the Sevierville community to work towards maximizing the use of public spaces and amenities.
It shall be the responsibility of the Board to study and investigate the services, facilities, and programs managed by the Parks and Recreation Department, for the purpose of advising the Board of Mayor and Aldermen as to desirable policies and plans. The PBA is responsible for overseeing projects pertaining to the City’s Central Business Improvement District (CBID) and related financing. There are eight board members, selected by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. The members serve staggered six-year terms. Meetings are held as needed at the Civic Center.
