Greenway Boardwalk to Close for Repair and Maintenance

The City of Sevierville Department of Parks and Recreation announces the temporary closing of the boardwalk on the Memorial River Greenway for repair and maintenance.

The boardwalk is located behind China Town restaurant and Little Caesars Pizza (Forks of the River Parkway) on the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River.

Repair and maintenance work will commence on Monday, November 2, 2015. A completion date has not yet been determined, but will be dependent on the amount of repairs needed and weather conditions. The boardwalk was built in 1998 and has not required any major repair or maintenance to date.

Access to the rest of the Memorial River Greenway will be permitted; the sidewalk on Forks of the River Parkway in front of Little Caesars Pizza and China Town may be used while the boardwalk is closed. Also, access to the greenway beneath the Parkway bridge and the stairs near the boardwalk will remain open.
