Sevierville Golf Club Named 2023 Public Golf Course of the Year

Posted 03-15-24.

The Sevierville Golf Club has been named as the 2023 Public Golf Course of the Year by the Tennessee Turfgrass Association.

The Sevierville Golf Club is a full-service club, including two 18-hole championship courses, practice facilities and restaurant. The club hosts dozens of tournaments throughout the year, including college events, the AJGA, and TSSAA High School State Championships.

The award recognizes the club’s challenging and varied environmental location that includes the Little Pigeon River, foothills, freshwater ponds, and wetlands. Flooding and erosion control and mitigation in the river areas require considerable effort throughout the year. In 2023, a major bank stabilization project was completed, which included installation of geotextile fabric and rip rock along two riverbank sections.

“Our professional staff works diligently to maintain both the River Course and Highlands Course, as well as the practice facilities and clubhouse,” said Director of Golf Cody Wallace. “This award reflects the success of our efforts to offer an exemplary golfing experience to our residents and visitors.”

The Sevierville Golf Club, located at 1444 Old Knoxville Highway, is owned and managed by the City of Sevierville. The par-70 Highlands Course features rolling hills with plenty of freshwater ponds. The par-72 River Course plays alongside the Little Pigeon River. Beth courses off spectacular views of the Great Smoky Mountains and nearby foothills.
