Changes and Improvements at Unleashed PETSafe Dog Park

Posted 11-21-18.

The City of Sevierville Department of Parks and Recreation is in the process of making improvements and changes at the Dog Park located at City Park.

In the large dog area, tree work is needed that will necessitate some short term closures over the next two-three weeks. The closures will be short in duration.

In the small dog area, a dog silhouette has been installed to provide a general guide showing what is considered a small dog. Users will be required to follow the guideline, however the silhouette is only a representation of what constitutes a small dog in most cases. Users will need to consider the guideline and their particular dog to make a decision.

A new third area for shy dogs will be built between the small and large dog areas. This area will be designed for dogs that might not want to be around other dogs while at the dog park.

The shy dog area and the large dog area will include a new covered shelter for dogs and their owners to share. Construction of this third area and the new shelter is scheduled to begin sometime in December.
