Names Released in Shooting Incident

The Sevierville Police Department is releasing the names of the two persons involved in the shooting incident that occurred yesterday, June 28, 2016 on Riverdale Drive.

The female shooting victim is 67-year old Cheri P. Reeves. The deceased male shooting victim is 74-year old Dixon F. Reeves.

SPD Officers responded to their residence at approximately 4:25PM after Cheri Reeves called 911 reporting that she had been shot by her husband. Officers found her inside the residence with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to her abdominal area. She was flown via Lifestar to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Officers found Dixon Reeves deceased in another area of the residence. It appeared he had shot himself with a handgun.

The investigation is ongoing.
