TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary Closure of Bridge on East End of Collier Drive

 Effective immediately, the bridge on the east end of Collier Drive near Veterans Boulevard is closed to all traffic. Repairs to the bridge have been ongoing with lane closures; a temporary closure to all traffic is needed for a short period as work continues. Barricades are in place on Collier Drive at the intersections with Ridge Road and Veterans Boulevard.

Weather and other conditions permitting, the bridge will reopen this Friday afternoon, September 10, 2021.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Several Downtown Streets Closed for 9/11 Memorial Event

Several downtown streets will be temporarily closed for a 9/11 memorial event on Saturday, September 11, 2021. The following streets will be closed from approximately 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. to facilitate the event.

Sevierville Police Department Schedules FREE Collision Avoidance Training for Young Drivers-October 2021

In an effort to improve the driving abilities and overall safety of younger drivers, the Sevierville Police Department (SPD) has scheduled a FREE 12-hour Collision Avoidance Training (CAT) class on Friday, October 22 (6 p.m.-9 p.m. @ SPD) and Saturday, October 23 (8 a.m.-5 p.m. @ Sevierville Convention Center), 2021.

The training is for drivers aged 16-20 years old who have a valid driver’s license (participants are required to provide their own vehicle and have current insurance). The seminar is taught by SPD Officers utilizing a nationally proven program.

Beginning of School Year-Let’s Keep Our Children Safe! 2021

Area students will begin returning to school on Monday, August 16 causing pedestrian and vehicle traffic to increase significantly. The flashing yellow school zone lights, indicating the presence of school children around schools, are being activated to remind drivers that the school year is about to begin. “The overall goal is to get our children to and from school safely. Please help us keep our children safe by following the school zone traffic laws,” said Sevierville Police Chief Joseph Manning.
