Overnight, crews were able to make significant progress on primary routes. Most primary route lanes are wet, but large patches of snow and ice still exist. Work on treating and plowing secondary routes is ongoing. Most lower priority secondary routes are still largely untreated.
Travel remains unadvisable at this time. Public Works crews will continue to work around the clock to treat and plow, generally based upon the priority schedule below.
Roads are generally treated according to a predetermined priority. The priority that a street receives is based on several factors:
1. Amount of traffic
2. Routes with state or national significance
3. Access to essential services

The City of Sevierville is issuing a traffic advisory for temporary downtown street closures on Friday, December 6. The following streets will be closed from 3:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m. for the Sevier County government Christmas at the Courthouse tree lighting event.
