SPD receives community outreach grant

The Sevierville Police Department received a $950.00 community outreach grant earlier this year from the Sevier County Health Improvement Council. The SPD Community Resource Unit used the grant funds to purchase mental health crisis resource cards and pop-it bracelets.

“The bracelets can aid in situational de-escalation for individuals with sensory processing disorders,“ said SPD Lieutenant Rebecca Cowan. “We’re very thankful to the SCHIC for providing funding that will help our officers on a daily basis.”
