Although Sevierville has received much needed rainfall over the past day, dry conditions continue to persist in our area. Therefore, the City of Sevierville outdoor burn ban remains in effect until further notice.

The City of Sevierville is issuing a traffic advisory for the temporary closure of a section of Court Avenue on Friday, December 1. Court Avenue, between Commerce Street and Bruce Street, will be closed to all traffic from 3:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m. The closure is necessary to facilitate the Sevier County government Christmas at the Courthouse special event.

The Sevierville Police Department Community Resource Unit and other department members have scheduled the 2023 Shop With a Sevierville Cop event for December 19-20.

The Sevierville Police Department (SPD) investigates many car break-ins and thefts each year. Often these crimes of opportunity could have been prevented by sound security practices. Besides the loss of personal property, victims may also have to contend with costly damages to their vehicle. In some rare instances, purse snatchings and vehicle break-ins have also led to home burglaries.

A traffic advisory is being issued for a temporary road closure on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Gay Street will be closed to through traffic at Murphy Road from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The closure is necessary for sewer line work. Detour roads include South Boulevard, Connely Street, Oak Street and Alexanderia Street.
