Solid Waste
The Solid Waste Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for collecting and disposing of commercial and residential garbage. We offer twice a month collection of bulk/junk items; once a month removal of yard waste (which includes tree trimmings, leaves, grass and shrub clippings); provide roll-off service to City of Sevierville residential customers for demolition and clean up projects. We oversee recycling efforts at the City’s drop off location, most schools within the city limits, and collection of cardboard from commercial businesses. We provide crews in coordination with Sevier County’s Intensive Public Service Program for litter pickup along city streets and state highways within the city. We keep our streets clean by disposing of dead animals. The Solid Waste Department also works with Keep Sevier Beautiful to collect trash and litter from community clean up and special events. The Solid Waste Division plays a vital role in the Household Hazardous Waste Day sponsored by the State of Tennessee each year. All garbage is hauled to Sevier Solid Waste, Inc. (SSWI) Compost and Landfill Facility on Ridge Road.
