Increased Smoke In Sevierville Area

The City of Sevierville has been receiving numerous calls from concerned residents regarding increased smoke in our area. This smoke is from fires in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Currently, there are no known active fires in Sevierville or Sevier County except those in the National Park.

With the forecasted increase in wind speeds throughout today and this evening, it is likely that the current fires in the National Park will increase in size. We advise persons with breathing difficulties and other respiratory problems to stay indoors as much as possible while smoke is present.

If you should see a nearby fire, please call 911 immediately and leave the area if possible.
