One Person Injured in Shooting Incident

Sevierville Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting yesterday afternoon, Monday, July 10, 2023 at Days Inn, 3402 Winfield Dunn Parkway. SPD dispatchers were notified by Sevier County E911 at approximately 4:20 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located the shooting victim, 47-year old Crystal Lemka of Morristown, Tennessee, in a room at the hotel. She was transported by the Sevier County Ambulance Service to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Lemka was treated for a gunshot wound near her right shoulder and subsequently released.

The person who allegedly shot the victim, 37-year old Joshua Ferrell of Morristown, Tennessee, was at the hotel room when officers arrived. After consultation with the Fourth Judicial District Attorney General’s Office, Ferrell was charged with especially aggravated assault. Ferrell was also arrested for an outstanding violation of probation charge from Sevier County.

The incident remains under investigation.

All persons are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
