Starting Pay:  Firefighter-AEMT - $39,934    Firefighter-EMT - $38,934   Firefighter - $37,935

Minimum Requirements: 
Be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Be a high school graduate or equivalent. Be a citizen of the United States. Valid Tennessee Driver’s License or able to obtain upon employment.  Not have been convicted of, or plead guilty to, or entered a plea of nolo contender to any felon charge or to any violation of any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor or controlled substances. Not have been released or discharged under anything other than an honorable discharge from any armed forces of the United States. Must reside within Sevier County or bordering Tennessee county and must be available to report to work within a reasonable time when Call Back is requested *upon approval of BOMA 5/17/21.
 
No fire experience necessary! State of TN Basic Firefighter or equivalent preferred.  
 
After having met the above requirements, candidates must successfully complete the following: written examination and a timed physical agility test (waiver from licensed physician required prior to testing). Oral interview board composed of a combination of departmental officers, city personnel and/or citizens/business owners of the City. Pass a post-employment-offer drug screen, Physiological evaluation and medical examination. A comprehensive background check, including but not limited to, criminal, financial, and personal history.
