Assistant Golf Course Mechanic- Part-time- $18.66 hourly
SALARY: $18.66 to $20.57 an hour

SUMMARY:
The essential function of the position is to assist the Mechanic III in the repairing and maintenance of various gasoline and diesel-powered golf course equipment. The position also assists in maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building, performs a variety of maintenance building repairs, operates equipment on the golf course on occasion, and performs other duties as directed by the Mechanic III. This position is under the general supervision of Mechanic III
This position’s primary duties are:
- Assists in inspecting and diagnosing mechanical defects. Repair defects and failures of golf course Assists in inspecting and diagnosing mechanical defects. Repair defects and failures of golf course equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance procedures such as changing oil, filters, spark plugs and mower blades. Lubricates, greases, fuels, pressure washed, wax, armor-all, sharpen and grind golf course equipment and their constituent parts.
- Spot-checks equipment performance in the field and tows broken equipment from the golf course.
- Cleans and organizes the equipment repair area. Performs maintenance and repair of golf course buildings.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, use grinding equipment, work with clean compounds and perform other duties that require knowledge and application of safety procedures.
- Make adjustments to equipment that requires a high degree of accuracy. Make adjustments and minor repairs in the field in a variety of weather conditions.
- Operate golf course equipment in order to help recognize the proper functioning of the equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires medium to heavy work involving exerting a minimum of 50 pounds of force on a frequent basis, and exceptional dexterity and skill in operating machinery and tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a high school diploma or GED, and formal training as defined: vocational school education. Requires 1 year of related experience; A working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession. Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Skilled at the use of hand and power tools. Knowledge of the proper disposal of various lubricants, compounds, and fluids. Ability to operate golf course equipment. Requires valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
