Posted 12-20-20.
Free testing for COVID-19 continues at the Sevier County Health Department. Beginning December 21, the Sevier County Health Department, in conjunction with the other
89 county health departments in the state has changed its schedule for COVID-19 testing. These changes are necessitated due to allow Health Department staff to transition to distributing vaccinations.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, testing will be conducted in a self-testing format from 8a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each day BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Individuals may call 865-429-6232 to make their self-testing appointment. Individuals opting to test via the self-test method will call to make an appointment and be advised when to arrive at the Health Department. Public Health Staff Members will provide
these kits to adults upon arrival. Individuals will remain in their vehicles while completing the paperwork and collecting their samples, which will be submitted for testing. The self-test kits
are only approved for those over the age of 18. Adults tested with the new self-tests will register and receive their results online.
Standard drive-thru testing will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Those under the age of 18 and those unable to register online can still receive the standard nasal swab COVID-19 tests on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The Sevier County Health Department will be closed and not offer COVID-19 testing on December 24 and December 25 in observance for the Christmas Holidays and December 31 and
January 1 in observance of the New Year Holidays. Testing is not conducted on Saturdays or Sundays.
All testing is conducted at the Sevier County Health Department, which is located at 719 Middle
Creek Road in Sevierville.
