Greenway LED Light Installation Continues

Posted March 20, 2017

The City of Sevierville Department of Parks and Recreation has been working to install LED lights throughout the City's greenway system.

On the West Prong Greenway, Parks and Recreation staff have installed LED lights and new poles on the west side from Paine Lake Estates to Outback Steak house and LED lights have been installed on existing poles from Paine Lake Estates to the Main Street bridge.  LED lights and new poles will be installed when the west side of the greenway is extended southward to the bridge on the Parkway.

On the east side of the West Prong Greenway, LED lights will be installed to existing poles in the near future.

When the West Prong Greenway LED light project is completed, the City expects to reduce the cost of electricity on the West Prong Greenway by approximately $10,000.00 annually.

The West Prong Greenway LED light project is part of a long term, ongoing plan to reduce the cost of providing lighting throughout the City's Greenway system.

Additional information on the City's greenway system and walking trails is available here.
