Police Ask For Assistance From Public in Aggravated Assault Case

Sevierville Police Department detectives are requesting help from the public in regards to an aggravated assault that allegedly occurred in December 2014.

Ogle Lana 08 15According to SPD Detective Lieutenant Sam Hinson, SPD officers, firefighters and EMS responded to a home on Shannon Circle the morning of December 16, 2014 and found an unconscious woman outside. The woman was identified as 43-year old Lana Ogle, who lived at the residence with her parents. She had apparently been severely assaulted. It appears she was assaulted in the evening hours of December 15 and then remained outside and unconscious throughout the night until she was found the following morning.

Ms. Ogle spent several months in a Knoxville hospital recovering from her physical injuries before being released, and is still undergoing therapy. During this time, detectives have interviewed numerous persons, gathered and analyzed forensic evidence and worked several leads. A person of interest has been identified, however his name will not be released at this time.

As the investigation proceeds, Detective Lieutenant Hinson is asking for anyone who may have information pertaining to the December 2014 assault of Lana Ogle to contact him at 865-868-1751.
