Community Resource Officers Attend Local Kids Event

Sevierville Police Department Community Resource Officers (CRO) recently attended a kid’s event at Food City, 741 Dolly Parton Parkway.

CRO Food City Event June 2015At the event, CRO Robbie Nelms and CRO Michael Maddron (see photo) provided child fingerprinting services. The department provided fingerprinting booklets that include fingerprints and places for storage of a recent photograph, hair sample and other identifying information.

The SPD highly recommends that parents keep their child’s fingerprints and a recent photo on hand, so that they can be used in the event the child is lost or abducted. “We are fortunate to live in an area with a low crime rate, however, I cannot over emphasize the importance of being prepared in case your child is lost or abducted,” said SPD Chief Don Myers. “This information would greatly assist law enforcement personnel in locating your child.

CRO’s are available to provide a variety of services to individuals or at community events. For more information, please contact SPD Captain Matt Ayers at 865-868-1744.
