Officers Issue 80 Vehicle Occupant Restraint Warnings

Posted 03-15-18

As part of their participation in the Seatbelts Are For Everyone (SAFE) campaign, Sevierville Police Department officers were stationed at Sevierville Primary School this morning, Thursday, March 15, as children were arriving for school.

Officers issued a total of 80 restraint warnings for various violations, including seatbelts not being worn, no child car seats, and improper use of child car seats. SPD officers plan to return to SPS next Friday, March 23 for restraint enforcement.

The purpose of the State sponsored SAFE campaign is to raise awareness of the importance of using proper vehicle restraints and increase restraint usage.
