Temporary Open Burning Ban

The Sevierville Fire Department (SFD) has issued a temporary ban on open burning in the City. The ban is effective immediately.

According to SFD Fire Marshal Tommy White, the current dry weather and low humidity has created a condition wherein open burning is too hazardous.

"The ban on opening burning will be in effect until significant rainfall is received," Fire Marshal White said. The public will be notified when the ban is lifted, White added.

Citizens are also reminded that they are required to obtain permit prior to beginning any open burning in the City of Sevierville.
