Leaf Collection Season 2018

The City of Sevierville Public Works Department announces leaf collection will begin on Monday, October 15, 2018 and is scheduled to conclude January 25, 2019. This date may be adjusted if warranted by weather conditions.

Residents may choose either of the following leaf collection alternatives. Please read each alternative carefully and direct any questions you may have to the Public Works Department at 429-4567.

Fall Swim Lessons Scheduled at the Sevierville Community Center 09-18

The City of Sevierville Department of Parks and Recreation has scheduled children’s swim lessons at the Community Center beginning in October.

Registration for all classes can be made online beginning October 1 @ 8:00AM. Only online registration is available. Payment ($35.00) is due at the time of registration. Registration is limited. To register, go to https://recreation.seviervilletn.org/CourseActivities.aspx?id=20&cat=3, or visit

Sevierville Police Department Child Car Safety Seat Check 09-16

The City of Sevierville Police Department (300 Gary Wade Blvd. in the Municipal Complex) will have a certified child car seat technician on duty this Sunday, September 16 from 9AM-5PM. The technician will perform a free safety check and answer any questions you may have. And for parents who are unable to afford a new car seat, the SPD will provide one at no cost.

The City of Sevierville is committed to helping parents and caregivers make sure their children ride as safely as possible - every trip, every time.

Parents can also have their safety seats checked by the Sevierville Police (865-453-5506) and Fire (865-453-9276) Departments throughout the year. Please call ahead and schedule an appointment.

Officers Plan to Check Child Car Safety Seats at School

Sevierville Police Department officers will be conducting child car safety seat enforcement at the Sevierville Primary School on Friday, September 14. The purpose of this effort is to encourage parents and caregivers to always have their children properly secured in an appropriate child car safety seat.

Children must remain in their safety seat with seatbelts/harnesses properly secured, until the vehicle is at a complete stop and the child is ready to exit the vehicle.

The SPD is committed to the safety of our children. Please help us by properly securing your child in an appropriate child car safety seat.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Section of Bruce Street Temporary Closure 09-10-18

A section of Bruce Street will be temporarily closed on Saturday, September 15, 2018. The closure is necessary to accommodate the “Bruce Street BrewFest” special event.

Bruce Street, between Court Avenue and Parkway, will be closed to all traffic from approximately 12:00PM-10:00PM. The municipal parking lot on Bruce Street will also be closed during this time.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Park Road September 9-11

A traffic advisory is being issued for Park Road and connecting roads for an upcoming special event.

On September 10 and 11, Knoxville Youth Athletics will hold cross country races on property across from Sevierville City Park on Park Road. Races will begin at 6:15PM each day; significant traffic delays are expected for several hours before and after the races start. Additionally, September 9 is a practice day for race participants, which may cause periodic traffic delays throughout the day. City Park will be used by event participants and spectators for overflow parking.

It is recommended that motorists consider alternate routes and avoid Park Road. Residents visiting City Park and the adjoining Dog Park will also experience delays.

Sevierville Police Department Schedules Collision Avoidance Training for Young Drivers September 2018

In an effort to improve the driving abilities and overall safety of younger drivers, the Sevierville Police Department (SPD) has scheduled a 12-hour Collision Avoidance Training (CAT) seminar on Thursday, September 27 (6PM-9PM @ SPD) and Saturday, September 29 (8AM-5PM @ Sevierville Convention Center). The training is for drivers aged 16-20 years old who have a valid driver’s license (participants are required to provide their own vehicle and have current insurance). The seminar is taught by SPD Officers utilizing a nationally proven program.
