SALARY: $54,009 - $75,977 full-time with excellent benefits

SUMMARY: This position will be interacting with public to resolve issues/complaints; plans, develops and administers the City traffic engineering program; coordinates, develops, and supervises the personnel involved in the traffic control activities of traffic engineering, signal maintenance, signal construction, sign and pavement marking and parking facilities; informs the public and other City departments of traffic engineering matters; develops, justifies and administers the Traffic Control division operating and capital improvement project budgets; performs investigations for and serves as expert witness for the City in relevant traffic engineering legal matters; manages complex transportation and traffic engineering projects; independently evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques in preparing traffic engineering reports; and reviews site development plans and driveway connections.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, traffic and/or transportation engineering, or equivalent from a college or university accredited by the Accrediting Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Must have a valid TN Driver’s License; Possession of an active Professional Engineer License issued by the TN State Board of Architects and Engineering Examiners is preferred, but may consider candidates that are on the career path for such licensure. Four years of related experience. Advanced degree may be taken into consideration for experience. Supervisory experience is also preferred.
