Events Center
Director
The City of Sevierville, along with sister cities of Pigeon Forge and
Gatlinburg, located in Sevier County, TN are part of the resort area that hosts
approximately 10 million visitors per year to the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park. The City of Sevierville is seeking an individual who is qualified for the
position of Sevierville Events Center Director.
The Sevierville Events Center is approximately 245,000 square feet with a total
of 108,000 square feet available in the exhibit halls and 19,000 square feet
available in the ball rooms. It is designed to attract large groups to an
already popular vacation destination for maximum economic impact. These groups
currently consist of professional trade shows, competitive arts and sports
events (cheerleading, gymnastics, etc.), religious adult and youth conferences.
The Event Center Director is responsible for directing, planning, and
implementing national and local sales efforts to general business while
developing creative marketing campaigns that promote awareness of the Event
Center meeting space. Will manage and coordinate all activities of the sales and
marketing staff to reach budget goals and related operating results by
increasing revenue for the Event Center. Will directly supervise all levels of
event coordinators and personnel. This position is responsible for building
community support and interacting the community leaders, citizens and client on
a daily basis. Will uphold the values and goals of the Event Center while
generating positive public relations with renters, clients, customers, in-house
vendors, and staff.
Requirements: Bachelors Degree, preferred in Business Administration or
Hospitality Management. Position requires a minimum of five (5) years experience
in a similar facility with like responsibilities. Individual shall possess
knowledge and skill in the application of the principles and methods of public
venue management, including promotional publicity and presentation activities.
Knowledge of the business practices applicable to the management of a
large-scale exhibition facility. Knowledge of the principles and practices of
supervision, organization, and administration. Knowledge of effective contract
negotiations. Knowledge of facilities maintenance. Knowledge of liability,
property and other insurance relative to venue management.
We are seeking a strong leader with qualifications in marketing or business
management and extensive proven senior management experience. Must have
excellent interpersonal and communication skills and sound analytical ability.
In addition, must have very strong relationship building skills, be commercially
savvy, and very client focused.
Salary range $59,023 to $99,284 + excellent benefits. Send your letter of

The City of Sevierville Fleet Maintenance Department is now accepting
applications and/or resumes for the position of Mechanic I. The essential
function of the position within the organization is to repair or maintain City
vehicles and/or equipment. This position requires a high school diploma or GED,
and the equivalent of 1 year of college or specialized vocational training in
automotive repair or closely related field and 1 year of related experience. A
valid TN Commercial Driver's license is required.

Every prospective employee, as part of the conditional offer of employment, shall undergo a criminal background check and a driving record background check, conducted by the City of Sevierville Police Department. Insurance, Retirement, And Benefits
The City of Sevierville offers a benefits package to their full time employees. These benefits include paid medical and dental insurance, life insurance, short-term disability, and paid holidays. Upon hiring, city employees are automatically enrolled in the TN Consolidated Retirement System, which contributes 5% of an employee’s pre-tax dollars from each pay period into a retirement fund. Vacation leave is earned at a rate based on length of service. Sick leave is earned at 1 day per month.
